So i finally applied for my pharm tech license and thats in motion. In the meantime i’m due for an upgrade, and upgrade I did do. Well semi. I’m transferring over to the Del Mar Longs sometime towards middle to the end of july and getting a bit of a raise since i have a change in status. I’m going to be working 40 hours per week in the summer which is what i need until school starts back up again. My old manager/neighbor that hired me on when he was still at RB Long’s now works at Del Mar. So ever since he transferred stores hes been trying to get me to work over there for the past two years. So i recently just called him up to see what we could negotiate on, and im still not sure what terms he was able to pull up with the District Manager about my raise but I guess i’ll be ok with it until i find another place that will start me off at what i’m asking for. The Del Mar Long’s does 500 rx’s per day compared to the 100 that we do at the RB store. So it’s a loooot more work if i get a small eensy raise but anything will do to help bills if i work full time. and since i helped out for a few days over in del mar previously, I know that the customers are a lot snobbier bc they think they are soo rich. Well i guess they are but doesn’t mean they need to give us crap. I’ve been doing really well at my RB store bc they recently added incentives for everything u do so ive been trying. They’ve been rewarding monetarily for different things you accomplish so i tried and ive been doing quite well. Because of this they’re not happy that im going to transfer over to another store bc i made the store look good hahaha. so when i broke the news to them the pharmacists were quite upset, like REALLY upset. They tried to hide it and be all happy for me but whatever I know its all two face bc I ended up screwing them over in more ways than one bc now they will have no help. And they will realize how much work me and my tech put in. Like when customers would complain about us for something stupid they would not stand up for their employees and that sucks to work in an environment like that b/c then theres no trust or appreciation for your employees. Theyre upset bc now they have more work to do. hahaha.
Secondly, I’m trying to make as many connections as I can in the pharm world, that way if i ever need a connection with recommendations or jobs potentials in the future then i know who i need to talk to. Also I went over to Ralphs over in 4s ranch the other day to pick up an RX bc they were doing some gift card thing and i went for the oppurtunity to ask them if they were in need of a tech (since theyre still new) and they do!! so thats another oppurtunity except since they only do 50 rx’s a day im not sure how much they will really need one and if theyre willing to pay me all that much. PLUS Ralphs has a union. Does anyone know the benefit of that? Whats the point of it, all i know is that they take money out from your paycheck and occasionally go on strike but other than that i have no idea how it benefits from being in one. Anyways so yah, kinda rambled and boring I know, but thats all.
